  1. Call your own vet first — even at night. Every UK practice must arrange 24-hour emergency cover, so their phone line or answerphone will tell you where to go.
  2. Not registered anywhere, or away from home? Use the list below or the Vets Now emergency vet finder.
  3. Always phone before you set off, so the team can get ready and confirm they're open.

Suspected poisoning? Call your vet straight away. If you're unsure whether it's serious, Animal PoisonLine gives 24-hour advice from vets on 01202 509 000 (a paid service: £35 weekdays 8am–8pm, £45 at other times).
